goeasy visual design
Overview
In 2022, I started working at goeasy as a Content Developer. I began just prior to the launch of the organization’s new Learning Management System, Axonify, and was responsible for developing an overall visual style for training assets and modules based on the goeasy brand style guide and colour palette. To document these standards, I developed a Visual style guide and eLearning development standards guide.
- Responsibilities: Asset development, visual design and development of standards for eLearning content
- Target Audience: Front-line employees in easyfinancial and easyhome stores
- Tools Used: Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate Rise
- Year: 2022
Visual Design
I decided to use illustrations instead of lifestyle images for training content as it allows me to create a consistent visual theme across our eLearning, classroom, and virtual training content. The illustrations follow the goeasy brand colour palette and are designed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
eLearning Development
We had a limited amount of time to develop an new hire onboarding curriculum consisting of 30+ courses so I decided to use Articulate Rise to develop modules as it provides a quick and easy way to develop interactive, engaging, and consistent content. There were several other Content Designers, who were very familiar with goeasy store operations and content but new to instructional design that were about to join the team, so the decision to use Rise also meant they would have a shorter learning curve when they eventually started to develop their own modules.
For consistency across all of our training resources, I have developed Rise templates to use for each curriculum, all documented in the Visual design and eLearning development standards guide.
