Google Pixel 4
Overview
In 2019 I was the training prime for the Google Pixel 4 launch. This course was designed to train retail employees about the new features of this smartphone and is an adaptation of a module provided to us by Google.
- Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development
- Target Audience: Front-line employees in Bell Mobility, Virgin Mobile and The Source retail stores
- Tools Used: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud
- Learning Management System: Axonify Learning Platform
- Year: 2019
Instructional Design
The stakeholders from Google that I worked with on this project provided me with a training module that a third party company had developed but it was incompatible with our LMS so I developed a new course modeled after the one provided. I wrote the learning objectives based on what was featured in the original training and sourced assets and content from the module and the Google Pixel website to support them.
Because we used Axonify as an LMS, the course was developed as a microlearning module and the assessment consisted of multiple choice/multiple answer or matching questions to provide a summative assessment for the topic as well as questions for the platform to use for spaced repetition and reinforcement. The assessment questions were designed to reveal whether learners had achieved the learning objectives.
This course required me to provide regular status updates for the stakeholders and SMEs involved with the project and to obtain sign-offs at each stage of design and development.
eLearning Development
I used Articulate Storyline to develop the module. Our learners were encouraged to use the Axonify app on their smartphones to complete their daily training so the module was developed in mobile dimensions.
I sourced the images from the Google Pixel website and designed any additional images and icons using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
